Shloino Eisenberg, former general secretary of the Jewish Agency in Jerusalem, died today at the age of 60. He arrived from Poland in 1926 and served in the Agency for 31 years. He was a managing director of ZIM, El Al and other Israel enterprises. He was also the former United Jewish Appeal representative in Israel.

Upon receipt of news of his death from Jerusalem, Mrs. Rose L. Halprin, acting chairman of the Jewish Agency executive in New York, said:
“We were deeply shocked to learn of the untimely and sudden passing of Shlomo Eisenberg with whom we had worked in closest cooperation and friendship for so many years. He was a truly outstanding veteran civil servant of the Zionist movement, occupying positions of great responsibility and trust in the turbulent and dramatic years prior to and following the establishment of Israel.
“The Jewish Agency and the Zionist movement as well as his numerous friends in this country will miss him deeply. Our most heartfelt condolences go out to his wife and family. “
