Canadian Jewish Congress Plenary Session to Mark Its 40th Anniversary

Jewish communities in all the ten Canadian provinces have completed election of delegates to the 12th plenary session of the Canadian Jewish Congress which will be held here October 29-November 1. It is at this session that the Congress receives its mandate from the Canadian Jewish community to represent its interests.

Prime Minister John G. Diefenbaker will address the delegates at the dinner in honor of the Bicentenary of Canadian Jewry. The conference will also commemorate the 40th anniversary of the founding of Congress in 1919. and the 25th year of its reorganization in 1934.

The four-day sessions will cover the entire range of Congress’ programs and activities and a record number of delegates is expected. Every recognized Jewish organization. group and society is expected to send representatives.
