Rabbi Soloveitchik, the ‘gaon of Brisk,’ Dies in Israel; Was 73

Rabbi Yitzhak Zeev Soloveitchik, the Gaon of Brisk, died during the Kol Nidre prayer at his home. He was 73. Funeral services were held today. Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Nissim issued a special obituary describing the death as “a grave loss to the Jewish people.”
