Fifteen persons were arrested yesterday in Bergen County for violating New Jersey’s Sunday closing law which was given public endorsement earlier this month in a referendum. They were released in $25 bail each on charges of being disorderly, for keeping their businesses open on Sunday.

The arrests took place despite a Superior Court injunction last week granting a stay of enforcement pending a decision of the law’s constitutionality. One of the firms affected by the arrests announced that it would start a contempt action against the County Prosecutor, Guy Calissi, for not complying with the court’s restraint order.
