U.S. Gives Nasser $12,000,000 Loan to Build First Television Station

The United States Department of Agriculture yesterday announced a new authorization of surplus commodities for the United Arab Republic. The UAR was granted $2,370,000 worth of wheat and wheat flour.

(From Cairo it was reported today that the UAR signed an agreement with the United States yesterday for a $12,000,000 loan to build the country’s first television station. The money will come from the sale of United States surplus agricultural products to the United Arab Republic. It will be repaid over a period of 30 years.)
