West German Ministry for All-German Affairs reported today Jews were fleeing from persecution in East Germany and arriving constantly as refugees.

Asserting in a communique that the remaining Jews in East Germany were being persecuted along with members of all other religious groups, the Ministry said that the East Berlin Jewish community, which now numbers only 900 persons, was dwindling.

The Ministry reported that apart from East Berlin, only 600 Jews were left in East Germany and that their flight to West Germany for asylum meant that the East German Jewish community would completely disappear in a few years.
