The United State Government today announced a new agreement with the United Arab Republic of great potential importance to the UAR Air Force’s jet bomber squadrons. The U.S. Federal Aviation Agency announced it will assist the UAR in a multi-million dollar project to modernize and expand Calro’s airport facilities for the jet age.
In the initial phase, a team of FAA experts will cooperate with the UAR by going to Egypt to plan and design facilities to handle the largest jet planes and facilitate take-off and landing problems. Facilities will be vastly expanded. Equipment will be purchased and installed. The UAR is to be provided the most extensive and modern airport facilities in the Near East, an official said.
The FAA said UAR citizens will be given on-the-Job training in airport construction, maintenance, and operation, UAR technicians will he brought to the United States for special training at the FAA Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City. Okla.
