More than one million dollars was raised in 1959 for the support of the cultural inflations of Israel, Samuel Rubin, president of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, told the annual meeting of the group tonight.
Mr. Rubin, who was re-elected to a fourth term as president of the Foundation, also reported that the Foundation had intensified its program of cultural exchange. He said the recent tour of the Inbal Dance Theatre of Israel was highly successful with the dance group playing to over a quarter of a million persons in 27 American communities during its three-month tour.
William Mazer was re-elected chairman of the board, and Robert S. Benjamin was named chairman of the executive committee. S. Hurok, Fredric R. Mann of Philadelphia, Spyros P. Skouras, and Hos. Abe Stark were elected honorary board chairmen.
