A 20 percent increase in trade between Israel and Turkey was predicted here today for the coming year by Michael Tsur, director general of Israel’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, who Just completed a five-day visit to Turkey with Joseph Schickler, director of the Ministry’s Foreign Trade Division. The two Israeli officials also visited Ankara and Izmir, to contact public agencies and private firms mainly to negotiate purchases.
This year’s volume of trade between the two countries reported to have reached a record figure of $24, 000, 000, of which half are Israeli exports, leaving an even trade balance. Israel exported to Turkey during the year a variety of 165 items.
