The remains of Zalman Schneur, noted Hebrew author who died in the United States exactly a year ago, were transferred today to Israel following a memorial ceremony held at the Histadrut House here at which Israel Consul General. Simcha Pratt delivered a eulogy. A decision to have the remains transferred had been adopted by the Israel Government.

The remains were brought to the Histadrut House from the cemetery in New Jersey. They will be re-interred in the Old Cemetery in Tel Aviv near the graves of Chaim Nachman Bialik and Saul Chernikhovsky national Hebrew poets. Speakers at today’s ceremony included also Dr. Hillel Bavli, who spoke on behalf of the Hebrew Writers Association; Dr. Shlomo Bickel, who represented Yiddish writers; and Louis Segal, member of the Jewish Agency executive.
