Yaacov Herzog Named Israel Ambassador to Canada; Succeeds Lourie

The Israel Government made final today a decision naming Yaacov Herzog, now Minister at the Israel Embassy in Washington, D. C. as the new Israel Ambassador to Canada. He succeeds Arthur Lourie, now Israel Ambassador to Britain.

The Cabinet voted today to delegate Abba Eban, Minister Without Portfolio, as the head of a special Israeli mission to Argentina on the occasion of Argentina’s celebration of that country’s 150th anniversary. The Argentine event is scheduled to open May 21.
