The desecration of Temple Beth Zion here and a reported threat to its rabbi, Martin L. Goldberg were being investigated today by a joint team of Buffalo police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Swastikas were painted on the floor and hacked into the walls of the synagogue. Rabbi Goldberg refused to discuss the report he had received a letter threatening he would be attacked with a bomb. However, sending of such a letter is a violation of federal law and would explain the FBI’s participation in the probe. The vandalism was believed to have occurred Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
