The site of the biblical city of Dothan has been discovered by an American archaeological team in the Jenin area of Jordan, on the northwest bank of the Jordan River, according to a dispatch from the Jordanian capital of Amman, received here today.

The Amman report stated that Dr. Joseph Free, head of the archaeological team, said he had also discovered the well into which Joseph–later Prime Minister of ancient Egypt–was tossed by his brothers, as told in the Bible. Dethan was built 5, 000 years ago. After suffering partial destruction from war, it was, according to scientific records, totally destroyed by an earthquake.
