Two 15-year-old youths won trips to Israel yesterday in the national finals of the American Bible Contest sponsored by the American Zionist Council and the Israel Bible Society. Aaron Gafney, of the Rabbi Jacob Joseph School in New York, won first prize in the Hebrew division of the contest, while H. Lee Michelson of Hartford, Conn., won first prize in the English-language division.
The winners were among 70 youngsters attending Jewish schools throughout the United States and Canada, who participated in the finals here yesterday. Both first-prize-winners will attend a Jewish Agency seminar in Israel this summer.
