A “declaratory” resolution was filed here today in the Knesset (Parliament) by the right-wing, nationalist Herut Party, asserting that Adolf Eichmann, Nazi “specialist” in the extermination of 6, 000, 000 Jews, must be tried in Israel.

Although the Herut Party is in the opposition, and not a member of the Israeli coalition government, it is expected that the motion will be adopted by the Knesset this week. In presenting its motion, Herut called for unanimous approval by Parliament “as a demonstration of the nation’s solidarity on this issue.”
