Brandeis University announced today it had received a grant of $200, 000 from Martin Weiner, a New Jersey textile manufacturer to underwrite a program to bring world leaders to the University in a continuing lecture series starting next fall.

Dr. Abram L. Sachar, University president, said the Martin Weiner Fund for Distinguished Lecturers would make it possible for the University to expand a program which had already brought to the campus former President Truman, former French Premier Pierre Mendes-France, Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion, Oscar Hammerstein, Leonard Bernstein “and other key figures in the arts, politics, education and industry.”
