A new telephone exchange costing 1,000,000 pounds ($560, 000) was inaugurated in Jerusalem yesterday. The exchange, which has a capacity of 10, 000 lines, is the first to be established in the capital since the General Post Office was built in 1938.

The British General Electric Company, which equipped the Post Office building 22 years ago, also installed the equipment for the new exchange.
