A resolution calling upon all governments to eradicate racial and religious discrimination, and appealing to women throughout the world to bring up “the new generation free from prejudice,” was unanimously adopted here at the conclusion of the 16th triennial convention of the International Council of Women.
Thirty-four countries were represented at the convention, but Lebanon was the only Arab state that sent a delegation. Israel had a strong delegation at the convention, including three prominent Israeli women, Mrs. Shoshana Hareli, Tamar Eshel and Rachel Gesuntheit. An Israeli, Mrs. Sandra Meron, was one of the official interpreters at the convention.
