University of Wisconsin Gets $50,000 Fund for Hebrew Studies

The University of Wisconsin regents accepted today $10,000 as the first installment of a 550,000 pledge from the University of Wisconsin Foundation on behalf of the Wisconsin Society for Jewish Learning, for the development of Hebrew studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The gift is to be paid in five annual installments. Professor Menahem Mansoor will be in charge of the program.

The Wisconsin Society for Jewish learning is dedicated to “encouraging, stimulating and sponsoring scholarship, research and study at the highest academic levels in the rich heritage which the Hebrew language, literature and values can bring to Wisconsin culture and the academic scene.”
