A special plainclothes police unit has been established here to protect Robert Servatius, the German lawyer who is expected here Monday to take up the defense of Adolf Eichmann, it was disclosed today.

Police said that this arrangement was made solely for the Cologne attorney’s personal protection and that for the same reason, the location of the attorney’s residence during his Israel stay will not be disclosed publicly. Newsmen will be able to meet him at the Lydda Airport and interview him if he consents to this.

It was explained that police officials decided to set up the special police units because of the large concentration of survivors of the Nazi regime in Israel and to prevent any action against Servatius by hotheads.
