The West German secret service is investigating activities of West German export merchants who are engaging in trade with Middle East countries, according to well-informed sources here. It is reported here that representatives of the Allied secret services requested the inquiry.
Former high-ranking functionaries of the Nazi party and the SS are reportedly engaging in arms and munitions trade with Arab countries, and it is believed that they are using their profits to support neo-Nazi groups in the Federal Republic as well as Nazis hiding in Arab countries and elsewhere abroad. The West German secret service has for some time been investigating the financial sources of neo-Nazi groups in West Germany.
