Freiman Re-elected President of Canadian Zionist Organization

Lawrence Freiman, of Ottawa, was re-elected national president of the Canadian Zionist Organization at the close of the organization’s 35th annual convention.

Other officers elected were: Sol D. Granek, St. Catharines, Ontario, chairman of the board; Sam Drache, of Winnipeg, national vice-president, Joseph N. Frank, Montreal, honorary secretary.

A. M. Melamet, formerly national executive director, was appointed executive vice-president of the ZOC. The appointment of Mr. Melamet comes 18 months after his arrival from Capetown, South Africa, to assume executive direction of the national office. Another appointment was that of Rabbi Jesse Schwartz, retired ZOC national director, who was named general secretary.
