An all-day hearing in the municipal court here was devoted to the details of a brawl which resulted in charges being laid against five Hungarians accused of anti-Semitic attacks on Jewish passers-by. Charges against two others were dismissed.

Complainants told of hearing cries of “Hitler is back,” “Death to the Jews.” But the judge ruled that an elaboration of this theme is not pertinent to the case. Complainants testified that their wives were insulted by the accused and that they were themselves struck by the Hungarian youths. Three of the accused took the stand to deny the charges and to say that they acted in self-defense.
