Simon Mordechai Selchen, a veteran Jewish journalist and editor of the local Yiddish-English bi-weekly Israelite Press, died here at the age of 75. He was one of the founders of the Canadian Jewish Congress and other communal institutions. Born in Mohilev, Russia, he immigrated to Canada in 1912 and settled in Winnipeg in 1920.
