United States Coast Guard sources reported today that the Zim-Israel ship, the Dagan, figured in a dramatic rescue of the crew of a Greek tanker 360 miles southeast of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

All 29 of the Greek seamen who abandoned the 39,000-ton Kissavos after an explosion and fire were saved by the Israeli ship which rushed to the scene and took the 29 men from two lifeboats. A radio message was sent for a helicopter to pick up one seriously injured sailor.

It was disclosed that the rescue was the sixth by Zim-Israeli ships in answering the call for help in sea emergencies.
