San Quentin prison officials were reported today to have taken severe disciplinary action against a neo-Nazi group of prison inmates. The group of prisoners called themselves “Blue birds” and tattooed small birds on their faces. They professed admiration for Hitler and scrawled swastikas on the walls of the prison.
San Quentin prison authorities moved most of the neo-Nazis to the prison’s adjustment center in an effort to break up the movement. The leader of the group is a young burglar who has consistently been in trouble for violation of penitentiary regulations.
