The board of governors of the Hebrew University approved an ordinary budget for the coming year of 18,000,000 pounds ($10,800,000) and reelected President Ben-Zvi honorary president.
The board named Edward Gelber as chairman and Dr. Helen Kagan as vice-chairman of the executive council. One of the ceremonies held in connection with the board meeting was the laying of a cornerstone for a geology building contributed by the South African Friends of the University.
