Three Soviet artists arrived in Israel yesterday for a series of performances and began rehearsals today with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra for a recital here Saturday night for which all 3, 000 seats have been sold. The performers–Lev Vlalsenko and Maria Karandasheva, pianists; and Mikhail Veinman, a violinist–are the first to visit Israel from the Soviet Union.

At the airport to welcome the visiting artists were Soviet Ambassador Mikhail Bodrov, heading a delegation of Russian embassy officials; and members of the Israel-Russia Friendship League.
