Dr. Shirley Kaplan, former president of the Burlington County chapter of the American Jewish Congress, and a member of the AJC’s Commission on Law and Social Action, has been sworn in here as a member of the New Jersey State Department of Education’s division on civil rights. She was appointed to the post by Governor Robert Meyner, and confirmed by the State Legislature.
