Miss Ruth Roskies Wisse, of Montreal, has been awarded a $500 prize for a critical study of 15 Yiddish prose poems by Abraham Sutzkever, the National Foundation for Jewish Culture announced today. Funds for the award were provided by the Esther and Louis LaMed Fund of Detroit for a master’s thesis on a Jewish subject accepted by an accredited American or Canadian university. The winning treatise was submitted to Columbia University.
