Mizrachi Women’s Convention Supports Legislation to Combat Bigotry

The 36th national convention of the Mizrachi Women’s Organization of America closed here today with the adoption of a resolution urging the members to support legislation to combat bigotry and back amendments to the McCarran Walter Immigration Act to eliminate discriminatory provisions. The more than 500 delegates also reaffirmed the primacy in fund -raising efforts of the United Jewish Appeal and pledged the organization’s continuing support of the Israel bond campaign.

Other resolutions called for the intensification of the study of the Bible and the organization of Hebrew language courses on a national basis. The delegates also called for efforts to provide summer camp experience in Israel for the children of the organization’s membership. Mrs. Moses Dyckman, of New York, was unanimously re-elected president of the organization. Mrs. Bessie Gotsfeld, of Tel Aviv, was formally re-designated honorary national president.
