Mrs. Harry Cahane, president of the Women’s League for Israel, and Mrs. William Prince, honorary president, today presented a $100,000 check to former Senator Herbert H. Lehman, chairman of the national council of the American Friends of the Hebrew University, for construction of the Student Center on the central campus of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
The women’s organization is raising $500,000 for the Student Center and, with its latest gift, has transmitted $200,000 to the Hebrew University. The presentation ceremony took place at Mr. Lehman’s home. The Women’s League for Israel Student Center will consist of a student activities building, an athletics building and a student organization building.
