Hopes that the three-week-long strike of 6,000 members of the Engineers’ Union may end tomorrow were seen here today, when it seemed that a compromise formula had been accepted. Under the compromise, worked out by Finance Minister Levi Eshkol, the strikers would accept only a seven percent in-increase, but would get additional benefits from Job upgrading.. The strikers have demanded a 16 percent increase.
