The Canadian Federal Department of Justice is watching the activities of an organization, with headquarters at London, Ontario, which has been disseminating anti-Israel and anti-Semitic literature under the imprint of the “Canadian Friends of the Middle East,” it was ascertained here today. An official of the Department of Justice declared his office is “fully in the picture” about the activities and membership of the organization.
Two pieces of literature, one mocking the fact that the Nazis murdered 6, 000, 000 Jews during World War II, the other denying the legality of the existence of Israel and declaring “the illegal-occupation of Palestine by the Jews will soon end, ” have been circulated by the group. The possibility was foreseen here today of a full probe into the activities of the “Friends of the Middle East” by the Canadian Royal Mounted Police.
