Celebration of the 14th anniversary of the re-birth of modern Israel was launched here today with two major events in which Illinois Governor Otto Kerner participated. At the State Capitol at Springfield, Gov. Kerner was officially presented with a landscape painting of Jerusalem by Ludwig Blum, an Israeli artist.
In this city, along one of the main avenues, Michigan Boulevard, window displays and lobby exhibits were opened by many of the city’s most fashionable shops, showing other paintings by outstanding Israeli artists.
