Rabbi Marvin B. Tomsky, spiritual leader of Emanuel Synagogue here, received a graduate degree today from a Christian college, the Graduate Seminary of Phillips University, at Enid, Okla. He was one of 10 clergymen given the degree of Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling. The nine other recipients are Christians.
Rabbi Tomsky, a native of Minneapolis, studied at the Minneapolis Talmud Torah, trained for youth leadership at Temple Beth El in Minneapolis, and later became a Conservative rabbi. Recently, the Chamber of Commerce here nominated him for the Greater Oklahoma City Outstanding Citizen Award.
