American Jews planning retirement in Israel were urged today to consider doing so in a new facility near Tel Aviv completed by Rassco-Rural and Suburban Settlement Company.
Zvi Ba-Gad, managing director of the Neve Aviv Club, arrived in the United States to meet with American Jews interested in the facilities which are a combination of hotel and club. The studio apartments, he said, have private bath, kosher board, medical and health care in the Assuta Hospital in Tel Aviv, telephone and maid service as well as recreational, social and religious programs. Rates range from $130 a month for singles to $260 a month for couples. The club is located at Kfar Shmaryahu near Tel Aviv.
The director said that registrations had exceeded expectations and that the membership roster was filling up rapidly. He stressed that pension and social security incomes from abroad are free of Israel income taxes and that members from abroad would enjoy for an indefinite period the foreign exchange and tax privileges accorded to temporary residents in Israel.
