Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president of the World Jewish Congress, now vacationing here, today denied a report published yesterday by the New York Times stating that he “has canceled representation of the WJC” at the forthcoming Ecumenical Council, scheduled to begin October 11.

Emphasizing that “the World Jewish Congress would not be entitled anyhow” to name a representative to the Vatican, Dr. Goldmann added: “The WJC never favored the sending of Jewish observers for the Ecumenical Council like other Jewish organizations. The Congress had always a representative in Rome, as in many other capitals, and will continue to have such a representative.”
