A district court judge here was arrested today for having taken part in the execution of 40 Jews in Russia during the Second World War.

The judge, Fritz Puls, was charged by the Dortmund district attorney’s office with having participated in the execution of the 40 Jews in 1943 when he was a member of a communications unit accused of having perpetrated the crime. Judge Puls was relieved of his duties at his own request on May 29, when the case was under investigation by the Central Organ for Uncovering Nazi Crimes.
