The Atomic Energy Commission disclosed today that radioactive isotopes produced at the Nabi Rubin reactor were used for medical research on the effects of hot climates on residents in Eilat and Beer sheba.
Because of their short lifetime, the isotopes were rushed to the area by plane and injected into volunteers to measure the effect of hot temperatures on salt percentages in the blood.
