Dr. Samuel H. Goldenson, rabbi emeritus of Temple Emanu-El in New York, and a national leader of Reform Judaism, died this weekend at the age of 84. He was a former president of the Central Conference of American Rabbis.

Spiritual leader of Temple Emanu-El for 13 years, Dr. Goldenson helped to introduce prayers into the Reform Union Prayer Book which expressed ideals of social Justice.
