Jewish Leader Honored by Catholic University in Rio De Janeiro

Professor Fritz Feigl, world-famous Jewish chemist, and president of the Confederation of Jewish Federations of Brazil, was honored here today by the Catholic University, which awarded him a doctorate to mark his 70th birthday.

Professor Feigl, who was born in Austria and served as an officer in the Austrian army during World War I, came to this country in 1941, a refugee from Nazi persecution. He has been active since in Brazilian Jewish, and world affairs, being a member of the executive committee of the World Jewish Congress, the board of governors of the Hebrew University at Jerusalem, active in the affairs of the Weizmann Institute of Science, in the Zionist Organization of Brazil, and many other important Jewish bodies.
