British M.p. Wins Libel Suit, Heavy Costs Against Nazi Party Leader

Sir Leslie Plummer, Laborite MP, won a libel suit in High Court today against three members of the right-wing British National Socialist Party. The court ordered payment to Sir Leslie of 2,000 pounds ($5,600) in damages. The neo-Nazis also must pay some 3,000 pounds ($8,400) in court costs.

One of the defendants was John Tyndal; an officer of the British National Socialist movement, who is now serving a prison term with the party’s leader, Colin Jordan, and two other officers for violation of the British Public Order Act, Sir Leslie sued the neo -Nazis on grounds that one of the National Party’s posters called him a “pro black MP, ” The group is not only anti-Jewish but also anti-Negro.
