Zim Reports Increase in Number of Trans-atlantic Passengers

Passenger liners of the Zim Israel Navigation Co. in trans-Atlantic service between New York, Mediterranean ports and Israel, ran with an average of 89 percent of their berths occupied during 1962, it was reported today by the American-Israeli Shipping Company U.S. representatives of the Zim Lines.

A total of 11, 258 passengers were carried on 18 round voyages made by the S. S. Israel and S. S. Zion and two round voyages by the S. S. Jerusalem during the 12 months, The total for the same number of voyages in 1961 was 10,857 passengers. The Zim Lines’s world wide passenger carryings reached the 80,000 mark in 1962, a 23 percent increase over the previous year.
