The Albert Schweitzer Literary Award for 1963 has been granted to Kurt Grossman for his forthcoming volume to be published in Munich, Germany: “Karl von Ossietzky–A German Patriot, ” it was announced here today.

Ossietzky, a leading anti-Nazi personality in Germany, was imprisoned in a concentration camp shortly after the Nazis rose to power, and died in their custody a few years later. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 1935, but Hitler would not permit him to accept it. The author, Mr. Grossman, holds the desk for German and Austrian questions at the Jewish Agency in New York.
