A.d.l. Joins Cooperative Budget Review Process of the L.c.b.c.

The Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith has Joined in the cooperative budget review process of the Large City Budgeting Conference, it was announced today by George Michelson, chairman of the LCBC.

Welcoming the ADL on behalf of the 23 community welfare funds that make up the LCBC, Mr. Michelson commended the League for “its wise and statesmanlike decision to participate with 13 other national and over seas agencies in the cooperative review process. ” Mr, Michelson said that the necessary studies of ADL’s program and budget will be initiated promptly. “Reports will be issued, ” he said, “as steps in the analysis are completed and specific recommendations will be made only after thorough cooperative study.”

The LCBC was established in 1948. Participation of the member communities and cooperating national and overseas agencies is voluntary. Recommendations of the LCBC are advisory in nature and each member community determines for itself the extent of its support for the agencies.

LCBC reports are distributed to non-member communities by the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds. Cities comprising the LCBC are: Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Buffalo, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Hartford, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Newark, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Rochester, St. Louis and San Francisco.
