The Connecticut Jewish Community Relations Council announced its stand today in support of an amendment to the State Constitution which would permit voting by absentee ballot when an election day falls on a religious holiday. The measure, currently pending in the State Legislature, has also been endorsed by the Connecticut Secretary of State.

A meeting of the Council was told by Edward Menice, representing the Social Action Committee of the Connecticut Council of Churches, that there were areas of common interest in which the CRC and Council of Churches might benefit through close liaison.
