Hadassah today appealed to the Federal Republic of Germany to recall from Egypt the West German scientists who are advancing President Nasser’s plans for aggression in the Middle East.

The action was taken in a resolution approved unanimously by the national board of Hadassah. Copies of the resolution are being sent to Karl Heinrich Knappstein, West German Ambassador to the United States, and to the Department of State.

In the resolution, Hadassah viewed with “consternation and apprehension reports that Egypt is engaged in a powerful military build-up” of rockets, warheads and missiles “directed at the destruction of Israel.” It noted that, in this military build-up, Egypt is being aided by “German citizens” who are lending Egypt “their scientific knowledge, technical skills and experience, and the resources of German parent factories, to assist President Nasser to develop the military strength necessary to achieve his objective.”
