The Government of the United States was called upon last night by Dr. Max Nussbaum, president of the Zionist Organization of America,” to do everything possible to counteract Arab incitement to hate and preparation for war and to press for Arab-Israel cooperation and peace negotiations.” He also warned against “the mistake to ignore or deprecate Arab threats of aggression or to play down the serious implications of these threats.”

The Zionist leader spoke before a meeting of the National Executive Council of the Zionist Organization of America, attended by several hundred Zionist leaders from all parts of the country. Jacques Torczyner of New York, chairman of the Council, presided. Dr. Nussbaum paid high tribute to Pope John XXIII for his strong stand against “racial discriminations” and “any form of religious intolerance.”
