First Jew to Serve As Ambassador of Holland Sworn in by Queen

The first Jewish ambassador to represent The Netherlands abroad, Dr. Raymond Henry Pos, was today sworn into his new post by Queen Juliana. Dr. Pos will be the Dutch envoy to Cuba. He is scheduled to leave for Havana on August 10. Dr. and Mrs. Pos were later luncheon guests of the Queen. Born in Paramaribo, Suriname, Dr. Pos served for many years as Suriname’s minister to The Hague.
